Officials COVID-19 RTP Protocols

It is very important that you read and follow these COVID-19 Return to Play Protocols for officials for the benefit of everyone's health and safety.

VERSION 1 – October 17, 2020
 
COVID-19 Screening & Testing
 
  • Must Screen morning of game (please in addition screen the night before if your game that starts 9 am or earlier the next morning)
  • Screening tool can be found athttps://sharedhealthmb.ca/covid19/screening-tool/
  • ***If Covid-19 screen not passed or not feeling well you must immediately inform assigner (Ernest Elder (U13 & Up) – 204.724.2732 or Gary Paul (U11 & lower)– 204.761.9855 and will be asked to stay home***
  • If you get tested for Covid – you must advise the assigner and a negative test result  must be produced the assigner prior to returning to the ice and be symptom free.
  • The onus is on each official to make sure they adhere to the Covid-19 protocols protecting themselves and those around them
 
Highlights of New Protocols
  • ***Face coverings are required to be worn at all times while in any facility except while on the ice***
  • Access to the facility (Keystone & Sportsplex) is limited to 15 minutes before the scheduled ice time.
  • The ref room needs to be vacated 15 minutes after entering ref room. There can be no mixing of game crews in the ref room from the game before or after. Officials leaving the ice will need to wait until the officials for the next game have vacated the ref room before entering
  • No handshakes with Coaches - can skate by each bench and give a wave to coaches prior to game from a distance.
  • Limit all conversations – if a conversation is required with a coach or captain, you must do so from a distance of 6 feet or more.
  • Quick whistles are required when there is a scrum anywhere on the ice or a puck battle with 2 or more players along the boards then whistle should be blown.
  • Faceoffs- it is recommended that all players and the official remain distanced at the top, bottom or the side of the face-off circle until the official blows the whistle and then move to their appropriate positions for the puck drop.
  • Reporting to time keeper - do not report via hole in glass.  Report either around or over the glass while still maintaining 6ft distance between yourself and timekeeper.
